How To Send An Email for Bill Scheduling

Here's an example email to use:

Aloha Rep Luke,

I'm writing to ask if you would please schedule these good food system bills for hearing in FIN: SB512, SB338, and SB1344.

These bills have made it through so many committees this session because many legislators and community members see the necessity and benefit of expanding/continuing SNAP double bucks, establishing food hubs for greater food security, and incorporating wild seafood into our state sustainability plans, respectively. FIN is the final committee hurdle and I hope you will not let these bills die.

The community understands that budgets are tight due to Covid, but there is also urgency to address the health, security, and sustainability of our islands. If these bills aren't scheduled, I'd appreciate learning why they were left out this year.

Thanks for your service to Hawaiʻi.

aloha nō,
Kelsey Amos
